We collect only the data necessary to deliver ARA’s WhatsApp assistant services:

1.1 Personal Information

  • Name (if provided)

  • Phone number

  • Preferred language

  • Time zone

1.2 Chat & Usage Data

  • Messages you send to ARA

  • ARA’s replies

  • Reminder details

  • Tasks, notes, saved memory items

  • Usage logs (timestamps, message IDs)

1.3 Technical Information

  • Device information provided by WhatsApp

  • WhatsApp account metadata

  • Delivery status from Twilio

We do not collect or request sensitive personal data (IC, bank account details, health records, etc.). If you send them voluntarily, they are treated as private content.

2. How Your Data Is Used

We use your data solely to operate and improve ARA:

  • Deliver AI-generated replies

  • Set reminders and manage tasks

  • Maintain memory for continuity

  • Improve accuracy and user experience

  • Monitor performance and reliability

  • Diagnose errors and system failures

Your data is never sold, rented, or shared for advertising.

3. Where Your Data Goes (Third-Party Processing)

To provide ARA’s services, your data flows through:

3.1 WhatsApp (Meta)

Messages are transmitted via WhatsApp’s official API.

3.2 Twilio

Used as the official WhatsApp Business API provider.
Processes:

  • Incoming messages

  • Outgoing messages

  • Delivery receipts

3.3 Supabase (Singapore Region)

Your data is stored securely in Supabase:

  • Users table

  • Conversations

  • Reminders

  • Memory items

  • Usage metrics

3.4 OpenAI / LLM Providers

Your messages are processed to generate AI responses.
We do not allow model providers to train on your data.

3.5 ARA n8n Server (Singapore VPS)

Handles workflow automation:

  • Memory extraction

  • Reminder triggers

  • Context formatting

  • Message routing

All data flow is encrypted (HTTPS end-to-end).

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

Unless you request deletion:

  • Conversations: retained while account is active

  • Reminders & tasks: retained until completed or deleted

  • Memory items: retained for continuity

  • Usage logs: 90–180 days

  • Backups: up to 30 days

5. Your Rights (PDPA Malaysia)

You have the right to:

✔ Access your data

✔ Request corrections

✔ Request deletion

✔ Export your data

✔ Stop using the service at any time

6. Security

We implement multiple layers of security:

  • HTTPS encryption

  • Access-controlled databases

  • Role-based access

  • Strong API keys

  • No public access to memory or reminders

  • Regular backups

  • Secure Singapore hosting

No system is 100% risk-free, but we take industry-standard precautions.

7. AI Limitations

ARA is an AI assistant. Responses may occasionally be:

  • Incomplete

  • Inaccurate

  • Misunderstood

  • Delayed

Users should verify important decisions independently.

8. Children’s Privacy

ARA is not intended for minors under 13. We do not knowingly store data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ARA evolves. ARA will notify users via WhatsApp when major changes occur.
